The day we’ve all been waiting for is finally (almost!) here. The potatoes are baked, the toppings are ready and we are excited to welcome our hungry guests back for another great year of slingin’ spuds and raising funds for our 2023 benefiting nonprofit.
So what now?
To help you get in the spirit of RDO Caters Taters, we’ve rounded up a few things you should know before November 21.
Philanthropic Potatoes
Since RDO Caters Taters for Charity began in 2020 the annual potato luncheon has raised more than $1 million for local nonprofits. From supporting patients in their final days through Hospice of the Red River Valley to helping local young women build self-esteem with BIO Girls, RDO Caters Taters has donated every cent raised during its event to further the missions of those who are helping better lives of our neighbors across the Red River Valley.
This year RDO Caters Taters is giving back to some pretty stellar athletes and their families.
Fargo-Moorhead nonprofit, HOPE, Inc., will receive 100% of every dollar raised and use the funds to provide sport and recreation for individuals and families with mobility challenges.
Since its inception in 2006, HOPE, Inc., has given hundreds of families the opportunity to not only burn some energy on the playing field, but show off their creative side a bit as well.
From basketball to hockey and dance to theater, HOPE, Inc.’s family-centered activities help participants build skills, relationships and confidence.
“The funding is amazing,” said Buhr. “This event is so well known in the community, and we’re really excited to spread awareness about HOPE, Inc.and to really gain some traction in getting some more families involved.”
Spotlighting Sponsors
This event wouldn’t be possible without the help of some amazing volunteers, but they can’t do it alone. More than 100 companies have joined in our mission through donations of sponsorships, goods, and services to benefit HOPE, Inc.
Whether it’s donating fixings or offering up spectacular raffle prizes, it takes a village, and we have a great one.

So how do you get your perfectly topped tater? Whether It’s dining in or taking it to go, the process is simple.
For those joining us to Dine In, tickets will be available for purchase near the Great Hall. Then head on in to dish up the goodness!
Choose from any of our awesome toppings — cheese, bacon bits, butter, sour cream or chili — grab your cookie and drink and get ready for your tasty tater.
If you placed a Take Out Order, head to the Harvest Hall, approach the Check-in table and give the volunteers the name of the superstar associated with your order.
RDO team members have worked diligently behind the scenes to lovingly prepare and pack your lunch and triple-check for quality — all to ensure you get your pound-tato exactly the way you like it.
