About RDO Caters Taters

RDO Caters Taters for Charity is a potato luncheon held each fall that donates 100% of proceeds to a local charity. For a nominal donation, guests enjoy a delicious lunch featuring a ‘pound-tato’ – a one-pound baked potato with a choice of a variety of tasty toppings, a beverage, and dessert.

Why Potatoes?

First, R.D. Offutt Company is one of the largest potato growers in the nation - it only seemed natural to make the spud the star of this special event. Second, potatoes are delicious - we believe they're the tastiest vegetable. Third, a baked potato is a blank canvas - our guests get to customize their lunch exactly the way they like it, choosing from one of our many toppings.

How it All Started

RDO Caters Taters was formed as a way to give back to the community. The first event was held in 2000, and since then, has evolved into a first-class fundraiser. With the support of RDO management and the volunteer efforts of RDO team members, the event not only continues to grow in attendance, but includes Take Out, in-person dining, a raffle, and photo opportunities with the RDO Caters Taters mascot, 'Tommy Tater.'
