Sponsor Spotlight - Truck Utilities

When RDO Caters Taters for Charity debuted in Fargo, it served 750 pound-tatos to its first guests. 20 years later, RDO Caters Taters has dished up 40,000 potatoes and raised nearly $675,000 for local charities. R.D. Offutt Company and the RDO Caters Taters committee continues to be grateful to the Fargo-Moorhead community for continuing to show up and support the event. They also recognize a big part of the event’s success and growth is the generous companies that sponsor the event year after year. One of these companies is Truck Utilities. Spotlight on Truck Utilities It has been more than 50 years since Truck Utilities’ founders launched the company that would be, still today, a family-owned company. Fargo branch manager, John Grove, talks about the shared values of community support and partnering with customers that has led Truck Utilities to be a proud longtime supporter of RDO Caters Taters. 1. Family Matters R.D. Offutt Company’s roots trace back to founder Ron Offutt’s potato farming days with his father. Now, several companies under the R.D. Offutt Company umbrella have been established, grown, and expanded with the help of Ron’s family members serving in various Leadership roles. Truck Utilities got its start when Jack Langer, a partner in a truck equipment company, bought out the company with his son-in-law Leo Capeder. And just as R.D. Offutt Company strives to extend the family environment to all team members, Truck Utilities is also focused on making all employees feel like they’re part of the family – and it shows. “We have several employees who have been here 20, 30, even 40-plus years,” John said. In fact, John himself is a nearly 20-year-veteran of the company. 2. Expanding in the Midwest When RDO Equipment Co. opened its first John Deere agriculture equipment dealership in Casselton, ND, it was the first of several stores that would come in the Midwest region. Truck Utilities began in Maplewood (near St. Paul), MN and since, has also concentrated its expansion primarily in the Midwest, with key locations now in Fargo, ND and Kansas City, KS. “Most of our team works out of our St. Paul branch, about 85-90 people,” John said. “We have 12 in Fargo, then the remaining group is in our Kansas City location.” 3. Partnership As RDO Equipment Co.’s key supplier of field service trucks and other large, specialty trucks, Truck Utilities appreciates the ongoing relationship it has with the company and is equally committed to its partnership with RDO Caters Taters. In fact, Truck Utilities has been sponsoring RDO Caters Taters almost as long as the event has been held. “Throughout the years, the partnership we have had with RDO has been a great one,” John said. “Truck Utilities has a lot of respect for all the good things that RDO does for employees, the community, and all areas it touches.” Learn more about Truck Utilities and its offerings for utility, crane, and commercial vehicle needs by visiting the website. ---------- Join us for RDO Caters Taters for Charity, Tuesday, November 26 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fargo. 100% of proceeds benefit PATH.
