10 Take Out Tips for RDO Caters Taters
Smiling faces everywhere you look. A flow of guests going through the serving line to top their tater. Full tables of people enjoying a meal together. The image of RDO Caters Taters is often set in the dining room, the space where community members gather to eat a pound-tato meal and show their support for the benefiting charity. But there is a whole other piece of the event, another group of guests that go relatively unseen, yet account for more than half of the pound-tato lunches served at RDO Caters Taters: Take Out. For those who cannot make it to dine-in, Take Out is an easy and great way to support Caters Taters and still enjoy a delicious lunch. Looking to try the Take Out option this year? Here are 10 tips to ensure a smooth Take Out experience. 1. Prep Orders Every Take Out order is offered with a choice of toppings (including a NEW tater topping this year!) and choice of beverage. Whether placing an order for one lunch or a dozen, organize all orders and choices ahead of time. 2. Go Online In the early days of Caters Taters, Take Out orders were called in. Now, placing an order is easier and can be done on the Take Out page of the RDO Caters Taters website. 3. Plan a Time To ensure smooth traffic flow and piping hot potatoes for all, every Take Out order includes a designated pick-up time. Make sure to choose the time that works best for you or your group. 4. Order Early Speaking of those pick-up times, slots are somewhat limited. The earlier an order is placed, the better chance there is to snag a preferred pick-up time. 5. Payment Options Payment can be made online when orders are placed, via PayPal. For guests who prefer to pay with cash or a check, payments may be submitted to the RDO building in Fargo at 225 Broadway North. All Take Out orders must be paid for in advance of the event. 6. Easy Pick Up All orders are to be picked up at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fargo’s Crystal Ballroom. The entrance on the southwest side of the building is the best option, closest to the Take Out area. There are no designated parking spots for Take Out but plenty of parking space is available. 7. Take Out Assistance Have a large Take Out order? Need assistance picking up your order? Several volunteers will be available and happy to help carry out orders on event day. 8. Safety Precautions At this time, masks are not required inside the Delta. However, RDO Leadership is committed to ensuring the health and safety of all guests and volunteers, as well as complying with all local guidelines. Watch RDO Caters Taters on Facebook or sign up for our email list to be alerted of any updates to event-day health and safety guidelines. 9. Tickets…Raffle That Is While there is no event ticket necessary to present when picking up a Take Out order, there is another type of ticket guests may be interested in: a raffle ticket. This year’s raffle has more packages and prizes than ever, and purchasing a raffle ticket is another way to support BIO Girls. 10. Come on Event Day Forgot to place a Take Out order? Don’t worry! Everyone can still take part in the RDO Caters Taters Take Out experience. Walk-in orders are available on event-day while potatoes and toppings last. Come early for the best chance to secure a spud and toppings of choice. Whether one or 100, the RDO Caters Taters committee will customize every pound-tato lunch ordered through Take Out. Plan to place your Take Out order in support of BIO Girls beginning Friday, October 1 through Friday, November 12 when online Take Out ordering closes. -- Join us for RDO Caters Taters for Charity, Tuesday, November 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fargo. 100 percent of proceeds benefit BIO Girls.
