RDO Caters Taters for Charity began after a challenge posed from R.D. Offutt Company Leadership to team members. The idea was to create an event that would give back to the community and highlight one of the company’s most treasured things: the potato. The event continues to be a success, both in terms of giving back and bringing together the community to enjoy potatoes. This success wouldn’t be possible without the generous companies that sponsor RDO Caters Taters every year. One of these companies is Eide Baily. Spotlight on Eide Bailly Eide Bailly takes great pride in its company culture, striving to be a top place to work and a trusted company with which to do business – and it shows. In 2019, Eide Bailly won the Chamber Choice Young Professionals Best Place to Work Award, and took home the Business of the Year honor the year before. For more than 30 years, R.D. Offutt Company and Eide Bailly have had a strong partnership, with Eide Bailly supporting R.D. Offutt company and the Offutt family in several ways. Yet, one of the most enjoyable ways the two companies come together is through RDO Caters Taters. Chad Flanagan, Partner in Charge of the Fargo office, was pleased to give RDO Caters Taters fans a behind-the-scenes peek at the company, including some not-so-well-known commonalities it shares with R.D. Offutt Company. Giving Back It’s probably not surprising to anyone that R.D. Offutt Company promotes a culture of volunteering and supporting local charities in the communities where team members live and work. One of the most important pieces to the Eide Bailly culture is a similar philosophy on giving back. “All employees get time to volunteer, as well as to serve on boards and committees,” Chad said. “More than that, we enjoy supporting companies like ours that care about the community and are committed to giving back, and that’s one of the reasons we’re so proud to be part of RDO Caters Taters every year.” Evolving Businesses Companies that reach 20, 50, even 100-year milestones can attribute several things to their success. One shared trait that both R.D. Offutt Company and Eide Bailly would point to for their 50-plus and 100-plus years in business, respectively, is not standing still. “Eide Bailly began as an audit and tax firm. But as communities and companies have grown, and business climate changed, our clients needed more than those core services,” Chad explained. “Several years ago, we committed to growing into emerging areas like technology consulting, wealth planning, forensic and valuation, and transactional advisory, to ensure we’d be ready to serve our clients and continue to meet their needs.” Similarly, R.D. Offutt Company began with one man and a potato farm, then grew into new areas throughout the years – equipment dealerships, food processing, and real estate and development just to name a few. Home Headquarters Folks in the Fargo-Moorhead community would likely recognize both R.D. Offutt Company and Eide Bailly as large employers in the area – but not everyone knows that both companies began here and, even as they’ve grown, continue to be proud to call the F-M area home. “Eide Bailly started in Fargo more than a century ago,” Chad said. “As we’ve grown and expanded to 14 additional states, we’re appreciative of our roots and proud to remain headquartered in Fargo. We care about this community. It’s one of the reasons we’re so happy to be part of events that support this local community and partner with companies like us who have been here for decades.” Visit Eide Bailly’s website to learn more about the company, its locations, and the ways it gives back to the community: https://www.eidebailly.com/ ---------- Join us for RDO Caters Taters for Charity, Tuesday, November 26 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fargo. 100% of proceeds benefit PATH.
